On the first day of the tour we had to get up at the crack of dawn to walk 3 kms to the outskirts of town. Supposedly there was supposed to be a general strike that would block our jeep from getting out of Tupiza. The strike was about the need for a paved road to the nearest city. But, as we walked out we saw no signs of anything that could be caled a blockade or picket line. This turned out to be one of several major points that our tour group may have been lying about. They seemed to have no qualms with lying to us, though they were suposedly 'evangelists'.
